Testimonials

Nicole went above and beyond

I had the pleasure of working with Nicole for 2 years during my time at university. Unfortunately I tore my hamstring early in the season and was unable to train. As my strength and conditioning coach at the time, Nicole went above and beyond to liaise with my athletics coach and physio to put together a tailored rehab program that suited my needs. As a result of Nicoles commotment and dedication to my training, I was able to fully recover and compete that year despite being out for 6 months with the injury. I highly recommend Nicole to those seeking a s&C coach who is knowledgeable, committed and hard working!

deeply knowledgeable, empathetic and highly skilled coach.

Simply put Nicole is brilliant. She’s a fantastic, deeply knowledgeable, empathetic and highly skilled coach. Nicole goes well beyond programming, form checking and technical feedback, she gets to the core of an athlete’s needs and really helps you develop both physically and psychologically as an athlete. She has great communication skills, is always keen to learn more about you and always receptive to hear about your experience. As a competitive weightlifter and powerlifer I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a fair amount of coaches now, and Nicole is hands down the best coach I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. I can safely say I will continue to work with her for as long as she’ll have me; I can’t give a better recommendation than that.

About Nicole Booth

My Current Work In Athletic Performance

As a UKSCA-accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach, my career spans over 16 years, blending academic rigour with athletic performance enhancement. My current engagements are diverse, reflecting a commitment to both the theoretical and practical aspects of sports science:

  • Scholarship Athlete Support: At the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), I serve in a dual capacity as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and Performance Lifestyle Lead. In this role, I deliver strength and conditioning to scholarship student athletes and Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), while providing performance lifestyle advice to scholarship athletes, fostering their holistic development.
    • Training Camp Support: I specialise in providing strength, conditioning, and performance lifestyle support at national and international training camps. My recent involvement includes aiding GB Climbing’s youth national training camps and I will be offering my expertise to Paddle UK (formerly British Canoe) for their under-21 training camps in France.
  • Lecturing: My academic post as a Lecturer in Sports Science at UCLan enables me to impart my extensive knowledge and experience to aspiring sports professionals. I teach specialist strength and conditioning modules, integrating contemporary research and practical experiences to equip students for successful careers in sports science.
  • Research: Embarking on a journey as an early career researcher, I lead the Mountaineering and Climbing Interest Group at UCLan. My research endeavours focus on applying strength and conditioning principles to climbing and mountaineering, aiming to offer significant contributions to the discipline.
  • Athlete Now: As a co-founder of Athlete Now, a sports directory, I facilitate connections between athletes and verified sports coaches, physiotherapists, psychologists, and other verified professionals, ensuring athletes receive high quality support for their developmental needs.

In every role, my objective is to enhance athletic performance through evidence-based practices, customised coaching, and a holistic approach that melds physical conditioning with psychological wellbeing. My efforts are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sports science and supporting athletes in achieving excellence across various disciplines.
